METALLICA: Footage From 'Call Of Duty: Black Ops' Party To Air On Tonight's 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!
November 9, 2010Footage of METALLICA from last Thursday night's (November 4) party at Hangar 8 at Santa Monica Airport, California to promote the release of the new video game "Call Of Duty: Black Ops" will air on tonight's (Tuesday, November 9) episode of ABC-TV's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" (which will actually air the morning of Wednesday, November 10).

Regarding its participation at the event, the band previously said in a statement, "Our friends over at Activision, the fine folks who bring you the 'Guitar Hero' games, noticed a small hole in the METALLI-tour schedule in between Australian dates and rang us up to invite us to the launch of their next 'Call Of Duty' game . . . one thing led to another and next thing we know, we're playing at the party!!!"
The statement added that the event would raise funds for The Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that helps soldiers transition to civilian life and assists them in establishing jobs and careers.

This was METALLICA's only U.S. gig for the rest of the year.
Activision released "Guitar Hero: Metallica" in March 2009. The band played a special release party for that game at the South By Southwest festival in Austin, Texas that month.
